45 minutes from the McKinney studio
Southlake Boudoir Photographer.
Southlake sits on the western edge of the metroplex, about 45 minutes from our McKinney studio depending on traffic across 121. Southlake clients tend to come for the full-day experience: hair and makeup, session, and reveal appointment scheduled back-to-back so the drive is worth the trip.

Southlake's affluent client base often opts for larger album and wall art packages. Bridal boudoir tied to Southlake-area venues, and milestone classic sessions for established couples, make up the bulk of our work from this city.
Southlake's center is Town Square, and the city's affluence shows in what clients order: larger albums, bigger wall pieces, sessions treated as commissions rather than one-offs. Many of our Southlake clients come by referral from friends in the Park Cities or Frisco, and a number pair bridal boudoir with the city's wedding venues. The drive is the longest of our close-in DFW cities, so Southlake clients tend to make a full day of it.
Most Southlake clients find us through referral from friends in Highland Park or Frisco. The studio's bar for direction and product quality is what keeps them booking with us rather than the (closer) Mid-Cities or Fort Worth boudoir studios. They consistently order at the higher end of our investment range.
Bridal and classic boudoir lead, with fine art commissions trending up. Album sizes from Southlake clients run larger than average, and wall pieces are often sized for primary bedroom walls. Many Southlake sessions are paired with a couples set in the same day.
From Southlake the route is State Highway 114 to the Dallas North Tollway, then north to McKinney, roughly 45 minutes in light traffic and up to an hour in heavier conditions. Many Southlake clients schedule early-morning or late-morning sessions to avoid the worst of it. Parking at the studio is free and dedicated. For clients who prefer not to drive, in-home Southlake sessions are available at the location rate plus travel.

Southlake questions
From Southlake clients.
- Is the drive worth it from Southlake?
- Most Southlake clients tell us yes. The route is 121 east to the Dallas North Tollway, then north to McKinney; about 45 minutes in light traffic, up to 60 in heavier conditions. Many Southlake clients schedule for early morning or late afternoon to avoid peak traffic.
- Can you travel to Southlake for an in-home session?
- Yes. Location sessions in Southlake carry our standard $549 location fee plus an out-of-metro travel charge. Many clients prefer this for in-home work with specific architecture or art in mind.
- Why drive to McKinney when there are closer studios?
- There are good photographers in the Mid-Cities and Fort Worth. Clients drive to us for the specific editorial direction and product quality, and they consistently order at the higher end of our range, which tells us the trip earns its keep.
- Can I add a couples session to the same day?
- Yes. Many Southlake clients pair a solo session with a couples set in a single visit, which makes the longer drive more worthwhile. We plan wardrobe and timing for both at booking.
- What does a Marilyn Lou Boudoir session cost in Southlake?
- Session fees start at $399 for studio sessions and $549 for location sessions. Hair and makeup is available. Products are purchased separately. Most Southlake clients invest between $1,000 and $2,000 total.
- How long is the session for Southlake clients?
- Plan on four to five hours start to finish: 60 to 90 minutes of professional hair and makeup, then two to three hours of directed photography across multiple wardrobe changes and setups.
- What if I have never done a boudoir session before?
- Most clients have not. The studio is designed around the assumption you do not know how to pose, what to wear, or what to do with your hands. Every part of the session is directed.
