Maternity session
Maternity Boudoir.
Pregnancy on your terms, photographed like art.
Maternity boudoir captures the third trimester with the same editorial polish as the rest of the studio's work. Wardrobe is curated for the bump (silk robes, soft sheers, classic lingerie), and posing is designed to feel comfortable rather than performative.

Maternity boudoir is the studio's quietest format and one of its most-requested. The work captures pregnancy as it actually feels at the end of the third trimester: tired, beautiful, slow, present. The images are not about pregnancy as a performance. They are about the specific body and the specific weeks the work is made in.
Most maternity sessions book between weeks 30 and 36. Earlier than 30 weeks the bump often does not photograph the way clients are imagining. Later than 36 weeks introduces logistics risk around pre-term labor. We can shoot outside this window in specific circumstances, but the sweet spot is consistent.
Wardrobe leans toward silk robes, soft sheer pieces, classic ivory and cream lingerie, and the partner-shirt look that bridal sessions also use. Many maternity clients photograph with their partner in part of the session, and we offer a paired maternity-couples package for that case.
Posing is calibrated for comfort. Sessions include breaks, hydration, and pose options for clients who do not want to be on their backs for extended periods. The photography is paced to your energy.

What to expect
The session, in order.
Shorter session, more breaks
Maternity sessions typically run two hours of active photography with built-in rest breaks. Hair and makeup runs slightly longer to allow for sit-downs.
Comfort-first posing
Most poses are standing, seated, or side-lying. We avoid lengthy back-lying poses unless you specifically prefer them.
Bump-appropriate wardrobe
The studio collection includes maternity-specific pieces (silk robes, stretch sheers, larger bralettes). We coordinate wardrobe with where you are in your pregnancy.
Optional partner inclusion
Many maternity clients bring their partner for a portion of the session. Partner styling is coordinated separately at booking.
Good to know
Things worth knowing before you book.
Book early in your second trimester
Maternity calendar fills quickly because the booking window is narrow. We recommend reaching out around 20 weeks to lock in a window that lands at 32 to 34 weeks.
Skin level is yours
Maternity sessions range from fully clothed through to nude. The most common format is mid-range: bra and bottoms, robe layers, partner shirt.
Pairs well with a newborn session later
Many clients book maternity and return after the birth for a newborn or family session. We do not currently shoot newborn in studio, but we can refer to trusted local photographers.
Maternity boudoir photography for expecting mothers
Maternity boudoir documents the body during pregnancy with the same editorial lighting and direction as every other session, calibrated for comfort. It is photographed for mothers who want something more elevated than a standard maternity shoot. Available at the McKinney, Texas studio for Dallas and DFW clients, and through the Los Angeles mobile studio across Orange County.
Sessions are typically scheduled between weeks thirty and thirty-six, when the bump is defined and you are still comfortable moving. The format includes built-in breaks and pose options for clients who do not want to lie on their backs. Hair and makeup are available. The result is a quiet, dignified record of a brief window, made to print and keep.

Questions
About the maternity format.
- What if I do not feel beautiful right now?
- This is the most common feeling clients walk in with. The pregnancy itself is not a guarantee of feeling photogenic. The job of the studio is to find your light, your angles, and the version of you that is in the room that day, and to show you those frames.
- Can I bring my older children for a few frames?
- Yes, with planning. We typically add a short family segment at the start or end of the session so the children can be in and out. Hair and makeup for children is not included.
- What if I go into labor before the session?
- We reschedule. You let us know as soon as you can. We can usually fit a make-up session within a few weeks of birth if you want to do a postpartum format instead.
