Mobile studio in Santa Monica
Santa Monica Boudoir Photographer.
Santa Monica sessions take advantage of the city's distinctive light: cooler in the morning, golden through the late afternoon. Most bookings here are at private residences in the canyon and along Ocean Avenue, with occasional sessions at curated hotel suites with ocean exposure.

Santa Monica clients lean coastal and casual in aesthetic preference. Couples sessions, maternity work, and natural-light classic boudoir are the three most-requested formats. The city's creative-industry base means many clients arrive with sharp visual references.
Santa Monica has its own dense layer of editorial photographers. Clients book with us because the direction-heavy session style works well for clients who want guidance rather than self-direction, and because our products are designed to be lived with rather than displayed on Instagram. The Santa Monica client base skews toward private archive use.
Maternity and couples boudoir lead. Natural-light classic sessions, particularly those scheduled around the late-afternoon coastal light window, are also common. Most Santa Monica clients order primarily digital, with smaller album sizes.

Santa Monica questions
From Santa Monica clients.
- Can we shoot in natural light?
- Yes. Many Santa Monica sessions are scheduled around the natural light at the chosen location, particularly late-afternoon sessions that take advantage of west-facing windows or balconies.
- Do you work on the beach?
- Not for boudoir sessions. The format works best in controlled environments. Beach-adjacent sessions can be scheduled at residences and hotels with ocean exposure, which gives us the visual without the logistical and legal complexity of public beach photography.
- What does a Marilyn Lou Boudoir session cost in Santa Monica?
- Session fees start at $399 for studio sessions and $549 for location sessions. Hair and makeup is available. Products are purchased separately. Most Santa Monica clients invest between $1,000 and $2,000 total.
- How long is the session for Santa Monica clients?
- Plan on four to five hours start to finish: 60 to 90 minutes of professional hair and makeup, then two to three hours of directed photography across multiple wardrobe changes and setups.
- What if I have never done a boudoir session before?
- Most clients have not. The studio is designed around the assumption you do not know how to pose, what to wear, or what to do with your hands. Every part of the session is directed.
