We scout the rooms when we arrive, decide where each setup will happen, and work through them one at a time. Hair and makeup is available as an add-on rather than bundled into the session fee, and for an at-home shoot it is worth considering, since having a stylist on hand keeps everything looking intentional from the first frame to the last.

Privacy is the default, not an upgrade. Your home stays your home. Only the people you invite are present, nothing leaves the session without your say, and image release is entirely your choice. If anything, an in-home session gives you more control over who is around than any studio could.

The light, and when to shoot

Timing matters more for on-location work than almost anything else, because we are working with the daylight your rooms actually get. Two windows do most of the heavy lifting.

The first is mid-morning, a couple of hours after the sun is fully up, when interiors fill evenly and the day still feels calm. The second is the last stretch before sunset, when the light in the hills goes warm and long and the whole room softens. Which one we choose depends on the direction your windows face and the mood you are after. When we plan the session, we build the schedule around the window that flatters your space most rather than squeezing it into whatever time is left over.

Natural light is not the same as no skill. We bring reflectors, diffusion, and the experience to read a room in a few seconds and know where to place you. When the light turns flat, we shape it. The point is to use daylight when it is good and support it when it needs help, so the images look like your home on its best afternoon.

What the session is really like

Most clients walk in nervous, or in this case, wait nervously in their own living room. That is normal, and we expect it. You will not be left to figure out what to do with your hands or where to look. We direct every frame, pose by pose, and we show you images on the back of the camera early so you can see it is working. By the third or fourth setup, the nerves are usually gone and the session starts to feel easy.

A typical session runs two to three hours with three to five wardrobe changes. You do not need to arrive with a plan or a list of poses. You need to be there, in a space you already trust, and we handle the rest. A classic boudoir session is the most common starting point, and it adapts naturally to an at-home setting: timeless, flattering, built around you rather than a theme.

What it costs

We keep pricing plain. There is a studio session fee and a higher fee for a location session, which is what an in-home Calabasas shoot is. If your address sits beyond the core metro, there is a travel fee, with a custom quote past that. Current pricing lives on the investment page so it stays accurate in one place. Hair and makeup is available as a separate add-on rather than included in the session fee.

Products are sold separately, a la carte, with no minimum. After your session our art directors build a custom quote based on what you actually want, whether that is a single piece of wall art, an album, or the digital files. Each printed product comes with matching digital files, and financing is available. Most clients invest in the session fee plus the pieces they choose at the reveal, and the number is entirely yours to set.
